I am a film critic, journalist and programmer based between Rome and London. After graduating from my hometown’s “Liceo Classico” with honors, in 2022 I earned a three-year degree in Film Critic and Journalism from film school Sentieri Selvaggi. I also hold a BA in “Languages, Cultures, Literatures and Translation” received cum laude at Sapienza University of Rome. My studies focused on literature (mostly English and Russian) and linguistics and my final thesis revolved around the influence of Dostoevsky’s works on T.S. Eliot’s writings. I am currently studying for another BA in Communication Studies and for an MA in Tourism Strategy and Cultural Heritage.
In 2023, I earned a Filmmaking certificate at MetFilm School in London. I love movies, art, literature and music and over the years have travelled around Europe collecting experiences in different fields. I have been an au-pair in Barcelona, Madrid and Augsburg and I have taken part in two European cultural exchanges, in Ireland and in Portugal. In 2019 I won a scholarship that allowed me to have a study/work experience in Malta for a month.
Since the start of my Film Journalism course at Sentieri Selvaggi I have been able to visit several festivals and events. Among others: the Venice and Rome Film Festival, ShorTS International Film Festival, Festival del Cinema Europeo, Visions du Réel, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, the BFI, MIP London, Berlinale, Festival de Cannes and SXSW London. I have recently been part of the Moving Images – Open Borders” (MIOB) 4th LAB of Cultural, Creative and Festival Journalism at the Trieste Film Festival, with Marta Bałaga as tutor.
Over the years, I have interviewed people from the industry in multiple languages. I am fluent in Italian, English, French, Spanish and Russian. I have a medium level of fluency in German, Portuguese and Chinese.
I am currently part of the Torino Film Festival selection board. I also work for Dorico International Film Festival, based in Ancona, Italy, as Head of the Submissions Office and assistant to the Artistic Direction, which also involves scouting and selecting films (for the National Competition and the Amnesty International Competition, among others). In 2021, I have also been selecting films for a collateral prize (involving sustainability) of the Venice Film Festival called Young&Short.
In 2024, I was selected by Fortune Italia as part of the “Fuoriclasse” list, among the best emerging talents in the audiovisual sector.
Finally, I have co-founded an arts festival for young people in my hometown, called SayFestFano, that has been successfully running for four years now.
